Daytime with Moody
Weekdays 12pm - 3pm
Monday to Friday at Midday we reach into The Vault and pull out 6 big songs plus some headlines from one particular year.
It's down to you to apply your skill, musical knowledge and rapidly-advancing age to identify the year in question.
Also, feel free to share any personal stories relating to the year or one particular song we feature from it.

A slightly croaky and sniffly start to the week by your host then, but no problems in getting away 6 songs from waaaaay inside The Vault at midday...
It was 1979:
Dave Edmunds - Girls Talk
Abba - Voulez Vous
Cars - Just What I Needed
Cliff Richard - We Don’t Talk Anymore
Commodores - Sail On
Lene Lovich - Lucky NumberYes, it was Cliff everyone.
On Tuesday we'll obviously come this way a little bit and your clues at this stage are straight to the point:
Shrek
5ive
and Ian Duncan-Smith!
Buona giornata

- Oh yeah...Added11/06/2008 - 20:28
I knew there was something I'm supposed to do on a regular basis...
It's now Thursday anyway and The Vault at midday was an interesting one.
This lot from 1992:Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith
Take That - Could It Be Magic
Crowded House - It’s Only Natural
Nirvana - In Bloom
Genesis - Jesus He Knows Me
Kriss Kross - Jump (!)Well done to Stuart the sparky who took time out from electrocuting himself (4 or 5 times this week so far, apparently) to get himself on board the Juicy Cruise with Transmanche Ferries on Friday 21st.
More of that on Friday's show along with a chance to pick up a pair of tickets to Noah and The Whale's sold out gig at Concorde 2 that evening.
Of course, it all kicks off with The Vault at midday...this time from the year that Cristiano Ronaldo was born (could do a job for the Juice All-Stars?)
Michael J Fox was Teen Wolf
And there's some Kate Bush in there this time around.
Be seeing you
Moody

- 'Say, Can I Have Some of Your Purple Berries...?'Added11/03/2008 - 19:48
So it was 1983 all along on Monday's Vault...this was how we rolled at midday:
Duran Duran - Union of the Snake
Jo Boxers - Boxer Beat
Mary Jane Girls - All Night Long
Kajagoogoo - Too Shy
Style Council - Speak Like a Child
Toto - I Won’t Hold You BackVanessa in Hove was my first winner of the week on our big Juicy Cruise giveaway...she'll be joining the others for the trip to Dieppe on Friday 21st.
More of that on Tuesday which gets underway with a fairly recent gathering out of The Vault
It was the year that we had a new Archbishop of Canterbury
We paid a last visit to Brookside Close as the soap was axed after 21 years
And I won't be able to resist sticking on some Red Hot Chili Peppers

- 'I Know I Need a Small Vacation'Added11/02/2008 - 21:58
Well Halloween has been and gone now, along with (most) of the hangovers, so there's not too much point in re-capping Friday's themed Vault in too much detail.
And so to Monday when, at midday, I'll be whisking myself back to those traumatic school disco days.
Hardly surprising I wasn't a huge hit with the opposite sex as I believe I turned up to one of them wearing a Wombles t-shirt. These days of course that would be seriously chic...Bond was still more like Bond in this year, especially with a film title like Octopussy starring Roger Moore
Michael Foot and his dufflecoat didn't pose too much of a threat to Mrs T. at the polling stations
And it was a pretty successful time for Duran Duran so we may play some
Cheers then

- 'Everyone Goes South...Every Now and Then'Added10/30/2008 - 13:30
I did say it was gonnna go WAY back on Thursday and, indeed, 1977 is over 30 years ago...some good songs around though:
Tom Robinson Band - 2-4-6-8 Motorway
Heatwave - Boogie Nights
ELO - Turn To Stone
Abba - Knowing Me Knowing You
Talking Heads - Psycho Killer
Eagles - New Kid in TownWe're not bound by years on Friday as it'll be a special themed Vault selection and you probably won't need any clues here as to what the theme will be on October 31st...
See you there at midday.

- 'The People On The Street Have All Seen Better Times'Added10/29/2008 - 22:04
Quickly then...
Wednesday's Vault was from 1999:
Stereophonics - I Wouldn’t Believe Your Radio
Beck - Sexx Laws
Bob Marley vs Funkstar Deluxe - Sun Is Shining
Placebo - Every You Every Me
Lou Bega - Mambo No.5
Madonna - Beautiful StrangerAnd so to Thursday when we go WAY back to the birth year of the one and only Shakira...
Roger Moore was Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me
And I'm going to play some Eagles that isn't Hotel California
Alright?

- 'Strolling Along Minding My Own Business'Added10/29/2008 - 00:13
Got straight back into the swing of things on Tuesday then after a long weekend and it was business as usual with The Vault at midday.
This little lot was from 1987:
Terence Trent D’Arby - If You Let Me Stay
Cult - Lil Devil
Prince & Sheena Easton - U Got The Look
Wax - Building a Bridge To Your Heart
Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes - Time Of My LifeGave away some tickets for The Holloways at Concorde 2 as well, which was nice.
On Wednesday we'll cast a glance or two over the year of the excellent Green Mile
Steffi Graf, and those legs, retired from tennis
And there were lots of Backstreet Boys hits, not sure whether we'll play any of them yet.

- 'If you listen...you can hear it'Added10/23/2008 - 12:38
If you're a regular listener to Juice Daytime you may be aware that we've been doing The Vault at midday for about 18 months now and I think, after featuring it on a few occasions during that time, I can proclaim 1994 to be the worst year for music EVER!
Fortunately Oasis were breaking through to sort things out, although they didn't feature amongst the 6 songs on Thursday:Beck - Loser
Pato Banton - Baby Come Back
Dodgy - Staying Out For The Summer
Mc Sar & The Real McCoy - Another Night
Counting Crows - Mr Jones
Whigfield - Saturday NightGood heavens, nearly the weekend already.
I'm taking a rare day off on Monday so there'll be even more of an end-of-term feel than usual about the show on Friday when we kick off with The Vault from the year of The Great Muppet Caper
Our Britney was born
And we chuck in some Adam and the Ants for your listening pleasure
See you then
Moody

- 'Guess I'll set a course and go...'Added10/22/2008 - 19:36
Wednesday's selection from The Vault included another couple of attempts from me to single-handedly turn us into a classic rock station.
It was 1991 everyone:
REM - It’s The End Of The World…
Amy Grant - Baby Baby
Metallica - Enter Sandman
George Michael + Elton John - Don’t Let The Sun Go Down on Me
Saint Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart
Extreme - More Than WordsI've been told we're far too generous with the clues ahead of the next day's Vault but then it's all pretty small beer in the grand scheme of things so what the heck.
On Thursday it'll be the year that cinema goers learned what they called a Quarter-Pounder with Cheese in France
The National Lottery was launched over here
And Beck, for me, is the pick of 6 songs

- 'Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh MIAMI!'Added10/21/2008 - 13:39
The sun was out on Tuesday and we were living for pleasure alone again with this selection out of The Vault from 1984:
Bruce Springsteen - Cover Me
Strawberry Switchblade - Since Yesterday
Style Council - My Ever Changing Moods
Thompson Twins - You Take Me Up
Stranglers - Skin Deep
Paul McCartney - No More Lonely NightsAlso gave away pairs of tickets to see Linda Lewis at Komedia tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
Speaking of Wednesday, at midday we'll casually flirt with the year that Robert Maxwell took a dive off his boat on November 5th...that investigation all went a bit quiet didn't it
Couldn't argue with the highest grossing movie of the year turning out to Terminator 2: Judgment Day
And there could be some R.E.M amongst the songs
Have yourself a great day now
